DOKA (Depth Of Knowledge Assessment)

Overview

DOKA (Depth of Knowledge Assessment) is an annual international math problem-solving competition that takes place all over the world. SMO Education Group, Academy Team Mathics, and Singapore International Math Contests Centre (SIMCC) are collaborating on the event, which is supported by Scholastic Trust Singapore (STS). SMO Education Group issues certificates that bear the Malaysian Ministry of Education (MOE) seal.

Many people are unaware that one of the most important aspects of Higher Order Thinking Skills is Reasoning Skills (HOTS). The reasoning is the process of thinking logically and rationally about something in order to arrive at a solution to a problem by considering various options.

DOKA provides a healthy competitive platform for students in Grades 1 to 12 (Primary 1 to Junior College-2) to evaluate their HOTS and IQ ability within their year-level group. Parents and teachers can use this time to evaluate their children and students before attempting more difficult math competitions or IQ tests in the future.

Why DOKA?

DOKA is SPECIAL - It includes a variety of interesting question variations to pique students' interest and encourage them to think outside the box while reinforcing their love for math!

An Opportunity for All - DOKA introduces students to various types of reasoning skills, giving them the opportunity to experiment and gain the confidence to compete in more difficult math competitions and begin earning "A*" grades in math.

Reaching Greater Heights - DOKA enables students to feel at ease when solving various mathematical problems in the appropriate setting. DOKA hopes that students will take advantage of this opportunity to compete in more difficult Math Olympiad Competitions in the future.

Objective

DOKA is a mathematical problem-solving system based on the depth of knowledge. DOKA aims to expose more students to mathematical problem solving and develop a love for math through realistic and high standards. It will assist them in improving their school math skills as well as their higher-order thinking abilities (HOTS). Students can learn creative heuristic methods for solving complex mathematical problems, as well as identify their strengths and areas for improvement, using the solution manuals that will be made available after the contest.
